The 68-page travel guide features more than 130 vibrant images showcasing the beauty, diversity, and charm of the area. This critical marketing tool includes descriptions of attractions, annual events, things to do, shopping, accommodations, and services available at the Newport Visitor Information Center. It provides information about the RIPTA line #67 that offers free hop-on and off trolley service throughout Newport from May 26 to Oct. 31, 2023, and a three-panel foldout map of the destination.
“Discover Newport continues to see a demand for the printed guide,” said Kathryn Farrington, Vice President of Marketing at Discover Newport. “Despite investing heavily in digital and mobile marketing efforts, we receive more than 90,000 requests for physical guides annually.”
The 2023 guide will be distributed locally and internationally. Some of those locations include regional tourism offices, Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, Amtrak stations, the I-95 Rhode Island Welcome Center, and Canada.
It’s also distributed to media, meeting planners, tour operators, and thousands of visitors who walk through the doors of the Newport Visitor Information Center.
“Visitors enjoy the Destination Guide because it contains information about almost everything a visitor would want to see or do,” said Philip Senecal, an information specialist at the Newport Visitor Information Center. “It’s an invaluable resource that inspires travelers to visit our destination and helps them when they arrive.”
