Arkansas.com receives outstanding achievement award

Arkansas Tourism was recently selected for an award in outstanding achievement in web development by the Web Marketing Association (WMA).  The award specifically recognizes the Arkansas.com page “Virtual Arkansas: Staying inside doesn’t mean you can’t have fun,” which was created to help promote The Natural State at a time during the COVID-19 pandemic when many tourist attractions temporarily closed. The site accomplished three main goals: to promote safety in the community, to support the tourism industry and to inspire future travel.

“Arkansas.com is one of the best entries I’ve judged this year and one of few websites I’ve scored all 10’s for over the past 15+ years judging WebAwards,” said one judge. “Attractive interface, user-friendly navigation, use of current technology and timely response to events (like COVID) with content and use of interactive features like regional guides, puzzles, bingo and video promote interest, interaction and length of time on website. Very nicely done. Congratulations!”

In addition to the interactive features mentioned above, Arkansas.com publishes new monthly content under Discover Arkansas to inspire readers to travel to different parts of the state.
