Our destination is most known for its pristine beaches and outdoor activities ranging from world-class fishing and eco-tours to kayaking, canoeing, and standup paddleboarding through over 200 miles of Blueway Trails. Our sunset and nature cruises are also a huge hit.
2.) During this time, how can we enjoy your destination?
The holiday season brings arts, culture, and holiday lights to the forefront in December, including holiday light displays, boat parades, and New Year’s fireworks over the harbor. In between are concerts, art festivals, the county fair, and other lively activities to enjoy.
3.) What hidden gem should not be missed when visiting your destination?
Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach has more than 70 parks and recreational areas for ecologically-minded visitors. The destination also has nearly 200 miles of Blueway Trails for the paddleboarding and kayaking adventurer. For the golf enthusiast, Riverwood Golf Club was ranked #15 in the United States and #1 in the State of Florida by Golf Advisor in 2021.

5.) How did you hear about NATJA, why did you join?
NATJA first came on our radar when one of our staff members had an interest in submitting an entry for the NATJA awards competition. Through conversations with Francesca Donlan and staff, we decided to move forward and take advantage of the educational and networking opportunities afforded to a member.
6.) Is there anything else you feel travel media should know about your destination?
Allegiant flies directly into Punta Gorda Airport and provides nonstop service to more than 50 destinations. Allegiant Travel Company is building its first luxury resort along Charlotte Harbor. Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor will be opening in September 2023 and will offer 785 guestrooms, including 189 suites.
