Indiana is a diverse state full of travel opportunities. Whether it is vineyards, breweries and distilleries, shopping, hiking or heritage and historical sites that you seek, VisitIndiana.com will point you in the right direction. And no matter what adventure you take, you’ll be greeted with Hoosier Hospitality.
1. What is your destination most known for?
Indiana is known for having all four seasons and a topography that’s different in all four corners of the state. There’s something for everyone. In the summer, hit the Dunes. We are proud to have the Indiana Dunes National and State Park.
2. During this season, what are some must-see attractions?
In the spring, our capital city of Indianapolis is known as the racing capital of the world and is also home to the world’s largest Children’s Museum. Any time of year, our resort community of French Lick features two historic hotels, award-winning spas, and world-renowned golf courses. In the winter, take a ride on the Midwest’s only refrigerated toboggan run.
3. What hidden gem should not be missed when visiting your destination?
I like to think that Indiana is surprising. From the World’s Largest Ball of Paint in Alexandria to Columbus, a modern-mecca of architecture.
4. What’s one feature that can’t be missed when visiting your website?
I would check out the season pages. We feature things to do in spring, summer, fall, winter and the holidays.
5. How did you learn about NATJA and why did you join?
I’m a big proponent of networking and building relationships with journalists. That’s the case when attending NATJA meet-ups and the annual conference.
6. Is there anything else you feel travel media should know about your destination?
We have a media section on our website- https://www.visitindiana.com/media-center/- it’s filled with ideas and photos!
