Dear Friends,
As destinations open up and travel resumes, we wanted to provide an opportunity for our community to come together. While countries are in the process of having its residents vaccinated, this process probably will not be completed until later in the year. Our NATJA team felt it important to provide resources to our members during this time.
To that end, we are in full swing, getting ready for the virtual conference, themed “Reset, Re-Learn, Renew” on June 2nd – 4th. The cost for the 3 days is only $99 for media members and $199 for DMO members.
We have a wonderful lineup including yoga, virtual press trips, professional development sessions, and of course, the ever-popular Marketplace. Our session topics range from “How to Do Travel Journalists Make a Real Living These Days” to “Media and Press Trips: Asking the Taboo Questions” to “Building Back Better: Roles & Responsibilities of Media and PR to Reshape Tourism in a COVID World,” among others. We have confirmed keynote speaker, Gail Alofsin, who will speak on “Unstoppable – The Powers of Resilience and Growth.” There are still more additions to the lineup pending confirmation. We are pleased to confirm the following editors for our popular Editors Panel, Sarah Bruning, Senior Editor for Travel + Leisure, Nikki Ekstein, Travel Editor for Bloomberg Pursuits, Alexander Howard, Lead Editor, Homepage for Lonely Planet, and Don Nichols, freelance editor.

We invite you to join your NATJA community for this virtual and fun event.
Thank you to our Canadian members who participated in our meeting last week. It was a great opportunity for people to come together albeit, virtually. We will be holding these gatherings quarterly.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility committee is planning another presentation on women solo travelers. Once the date is confirmed, we will send out the details.
Have a wonderful April!
