Hello to our NATJA family!
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, this is an ideal time to celebrate our two grand prize winners in this year’s Awards competition, both women! Autumn Phillips is Travel Journalist of the Year, and Therese Ikonian is Photographer of the Year. These accomplished travel journalists have excelled in their craft and won a highly competitive awards competition. Talent is talent, and we celebrate them for this accomplishment! Brava!
We also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the time for corned beef and cabbage, and the hope of finding a pot of gold or a four-leaf clover. Enjoy this day, and keep an eye out for your very own leprechaun to guide you on your way! Hope Springs Eternal!
I hope you’ve seen the wonderful professional development panel that will take place at our Galveston conference addressing AI. Our member, Dr. Adam Pitluk, has put together a discussion on the future of travel journalism, with insights backed by quantitative and qualitative research. He will be joined by two highly regarded professors from Drake University, Jeff Inman and Jennifer Wilson. All three are experts in journalism and the travel industry. This is not to be missed! There is still time to register!
Enjoy the beauty of spring as we move to our awakening from a long winter.
Warmly,
Helen
