Explore the history and heritage of Arkansas with the August edition of Discover Arkansas. Visit a military post that dates back as far as the American Revolutionary War and a unique museum of Native American history in central Arkansas. Visit a historic home and experience day-to-day life in southern Arkansas from the turn of the century up to the 1960s. For a little flavor, visit the family-friendly Rapp’s Barren Brewing Company and Gastropub in Mountain Home, located in one of the town’s oldest buildings. If hiking through interpretive trails is more your speed, then Cane Hill in northwest Arkansas has a little of everything – trails, cycling and 17 properties to visit on site that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Follow Arkansas’s story from past to present in this issue of Discover Arkansas.
