Shamrock and Roll
The Chicago Southland and its surrounding areas are home to some of the country’s largest Irish populations. It’s safe to say we know how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Check out the luck of the Irish with local parades, food and more, all of which can be found in our St. Patrick’s Day blog.
Get cracking this Easter
Easter is Sunday, March 31, and we are “eggs-tra” excited to celebrate here in the Chicago Southland! Leap into our Easter blog to take a look at some “egg-citing” activities before hopping over!
Suds Buds
Every day, brewmeisters across the Chicago Southland are concocting an extensive menu of delicious and refreshing craft ales and lagers. Golden wheats, rich and creamy stouts, hazy IPAs… Wouldn’t you like to sample them all?
Chicago Southland Suds Buds is a mobile passport program that showcases 14 incredible breweries located throughout Chicago Southland. Each check-in at a featured brewery gets you closer to earning fun Southland swag. Sports spring back at SeatGeek Stadium
Spring returns to Chicago Southland, and with it comes the excitement and fun of catching a live sports match!
SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview keeps their schedule full of soccer and rugby matches all month. Check out the Chicago Fire FC II, the reserve team for Chicago Fire on Sunday, March 17th and Thursday, March 28th. These games are free, so don’t miss out on seeing some great soccer! You can also head out to the first home game for the Chicago Red Stars, our area’s very own National Women’s Soccer League team on Saturday, March 23rd. If you don’t get your kicks from watching soccer, then check out some action-packed rugby games with the Chicago Hounds, also calling SeatGeek Stadium home, on Sunday, March 24th and Saturday, March 30th.
Outdoor art
When you think of artistic attractions, your mind may go toward art galleries and indoor exhibits, but the Chicago Southland has its share of art displayed in public places – sculptures and statues, murals and memorials in view to be admired. With warmer weather approaching, there’s no better time to take a look at our Get Outside the Gallery travel inspiration before checking out some outdoor art!
On stage this March in the Chicago Southland
While winter is moving on, we’re still susceptible to a few rainy days in the Chicago Southland this spring. When the weather isn’t yet quite inviting enough for spending the day outside, you’ll find that the month of March is filled with musical performances to brighten those gloomy, sloshy days and get you tapping your toes. Check out our On Stage in March blog for info on some of the great concerts and shows this month.
Take a virtual tour
This month, take a virtual tour of Ball Fore Miniature Golf Course and Batting Cages in Chicago Ridge. Check out the 18 holes of championship mini-golf, batting cages and concessions before heading over for your own outing!
