“In the inaugural year of Live at the Plaza, we welcomed 1,530 attendees to our free, outdoor performances and more than 100 participants to our recreational classes,” said Michael Fothergill, Ballet Arkansas’s Executive and Artistic Director. “We hope to continue our momentum at the Plaza this spring and to reach new audiences that may not have experienced the power and beauty of a Ballet Arkansas performance. Ballet Arkansas is ranked among the nation’s top 100 ballet companies by the Dance Data Project, and central to our mission is providing Arkansans of all backgrounds with access to world-class dance programming. Live at the Plaza will include fan favorites from our 21-22 season (The Great Gatsby, Coppélia & the Toymaker, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons), as well as the fiery Act III Don Quixote pas de deux, the ethereal Act II Giselle pas de deux and additional contemporary works. There will be something for every taste.”
“Ballet Arkansas has been a joy to work with and seeing the events come to life has been incredible,” said Karen Trevino, President & CEO of the North Little Rock CVB. “We love being able to provide opportunities for locals and visitors to experience North Little Rock’s amazing performing arts scene. We anticipate an even more festive atmosphere for this year’s Live at the Plaza.”
All classes are free and open to all ages and abilities. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and bottled water as needed. For class descriptions and program details, visit www.balletarkansas.org/plaza.
