GALVESTON ISLAND, Texas (April 1, 2025) – Visitors to Galveston Island now have the opportunity to fine-tune their stays.
Visit Galveston, the destination marketing organization for Galveston Island, launched an updated website Monday that features several enhancements. The aim is to help visitors and residents better plan the time they spend on the island.
The site now features a first in the U.S. interactive Artificial Intelligence (AI) upgrade so users can plan customizable itineraries.
“Technology continues to move us forward and we want to incorporate technology to make it easier to plan your trip to Galveston,” Visit Galveston Executive Director Tony Lyle said. “Our new AI Concierge, accessed by clicking the bell icon on any of our pages, gives personalized recommendations to help you find hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions that are right for you. It helps create a unique and memorable experience.”
The AI Concierge uses the power of AI combined with extensive online information to enable visitors to input their information. It then asks specific questions to get personalized itineraries. Visitors can tell the AI Concierge who they will be travelling with, when they plan to travel and their interests to receive customized recommendations.
“You can be as general or specific as you want,” Lyle said. “The Concierge will do the work and give you recommendations to help you have a great time.”
Visit Galveston is the first destination marketing organization in the United States to adopt this upgraded AI technology. It is patterned after the AI Concierge tool at the Visit Zurich, Switzerland website. The AI Concierge is available in a wide array of languages.
As they complete their itinerary, website users can use the new immersive SKYNAV tool to get a bird’s eye view of many of the island’s landmarks. Most of the city’s beaches, historic downtown and landmarks are visible from SKYNAV with the option for visitors to go to a street level view for greater detail.
Another update website users will notice is the “Island Time” theme with a calming color palette and beach vibes that invite visitors to plan some time to relax in the way that is best for them.
“There are so many things to do here, from the beaches to the historic architecture to the shopping and restaurants,” Lyle said. “Our new enhanced website will help visitors plan so they can relax in the way that’s right for them. That’s what we want, for them to be comfortable.”
