I was trained as a journalist and worked professionally in Europe as a public information officer for the U.S. European Command and later as the editor of a Dallas-area suburban daily. I then segued into other ventures, including a 15-year career as a homebuilder. For the past dozen years, I have been a full-time freelancer and content writer, for both print and on-line publications and thousands of clients. I now concentrate on travel and food stories, and travel the globe in search of great content ideas. I also maintain (and sometimes neglect) two personal blogs: goodfoodandfarawayplaces.com and rightoffmain.com.
My bylined work has been published in various print and online periodicals over the years. I currently write a regular column, "The Travel Well," for the largest weekly newspaper in Arkansas, The Hot Springs Village Voice, published in the community where I live. I have written blogs and promotional content for a variety of luxury resorts throughout the United States and the Caribbean Islands, and also have written content for restaurants, hotels, fishing lodges, and tourism companies in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, Australia, Egypt, and Turkey.
