My name is Bonnie McKenna. I am originally from California. I am now in Texas, and as the saying goes, “I got here as fast as I could.” I have been traveling all my adult life, first as an original Peace Corp volunteer in Thailand, then as a medical technologist for Project Concern, a non-profit in Vietnam. I came home and became an international flight attendant for Continental Airlines (now United). Travel writing and photography is a natural extension of that lifestyle. After 35 years of flying, I retired. I saw an ad in the local newspaper for writers and photographers. I was hired as a stringer by the Houston Community Newspapers and later by the Houston Chronicle. I am an avid SCUBA diver and underwater photographer. Diving the Indo-Pacific is my passion.
