Karen has been traveling solo since age seventeen, when she flew to Europe and didn’t return to the US for three years. Since then, she has traveled to 95 countries, many of them numerous times.

She is a regular contributor to JourneyWoman, a publication for solo women travelers over age 50 and International Swans a publication about women in the arts.

Among other publications, her work has been published in Perceptive Travel, Wandering Educators, Traveling with Purpose, Confetti Travel Café, 360 Magazine.

She has written two books and is working on a third one: Travel Mania: Stories of Wanderlust and Wanderlust: Extraordinary People, Quirky People, and Curious Cuisine, (Pub date 10/3/2023)
