I have been finding beauty throughout the world through photography since childhood. Inspired by flipping through the pages of National Geographic with my grandfather combined with my dad's amateur photography hobby I have been able to forge a career as an internationally published, award-winning travel photographer and writer. My work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, New Mexico Magazine, national trade publications and local consumer magazines, such as Lake Erie Living, Cleveland Magazine and Cleveland Business Connects. I was also named 2011 Photographer of the Year in the Society of American Travel Writers' Central States Writing and Photography Contest. Through photography, I've been able to travel throughout the world. My adventures have included hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro, traversing the Sahara Desert by camel, sand boarding in Peru and flying through the air with the greatest of ease at Trapeze School in New York City. There's still so much to see and share. My bucket list includes the Paro Festival in Bhutan, Cappadocia in Turkey, Cinque Terre in Italy, horse trekking in Mongolia, houseboating in India's state of Kerala and diving in the Maldives. My travel experiences have been enhanced while performing charitable work. Most recently, I've been working with the organization Drink Local Drink Tap to raise awareness and funds for a well project that will give a small rural village in Uganda access safe clean drinking water. Mulajje, and the amazing people I met there, are always in my thoughts. I gave them my heart and they gave me my African name Namanda.
