I’m Michelle Eyrich, a travel writer, storyteller, and explorer. I’ve been writing under my brand, No Place Like Roam, for the last several years and have begun working directly with the travel industry to highlight meaningful travel experiences, particularly for parents and solo female travelers. I was born in Nepal, grew up in Papua New Guinea and Australia, worked as an expat in Cambodia, and am now based in Dallas, Texas. As a third-culture kid and a person of color, I am passionate about diversifying the stories being told and the storyteller's perspective.
As an avid scuba diver for over 15 years, I am particularly aware of the intersection between culture and conservation, where this has been successful, and where there is room to improve. These are voices I am keen to help promote. I’m working hard on citizen science stories that educate and promote opportunities for learning and conservation activities along with travel.
My blog and social media content have proven successful, and I look forward to actively expanding my writing reach. I’m currently working on a mentorship under the guidance of NatGeo writer/photographer Yulia Denisyuk. I welcome the opportunity to join NATJA and continue building on my skillset and network while contributing to important and diverse travel journalism stories.
