I have a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Middle Eastern and North African Studies. Both of my parents are world travelers, and I grew up traveling the world with them. So far, I’ve travelled to 77 countries and 50 states. I’m a polyglot and have known/studies 6+ languages, including Arabic, Persian, and Bengali. I’ve worked with the State Department, living and consulting in the Republic of Georgia. I have international education as well, including the American University in Cairo, London, Guatemala, and more. I have two sons in their 20s, who are also now world travelers. I grew up in an international commune and have spent my life living with other cultures, cooking and learning languages of those around me. I have more than 60 published pieces, and in the past year alone, I’ve been a guest on more than 25 podcast episodes. I’ve also been approached by networks such as Netflix, Paramount+, and A&E because of my story and writing. I’d love to join NATJA and really develop as a travel writer.
